God is...
Yes it’s really true, God is! Why do so many fight against Someone who apparently doesn’t exist? The reason is simple - they fear the truth. They don’t want to face the obvious alternative to their own delusions – God Is. We all know from the hard experiences of life that one of the most difficult things to do is to face up to what we know to be true, but don’t want to be true. We might not like to face it, but better to know the truth than to be deceived.
The denial of God, simply because we don’t want Him to exist is called ‘wilful ignorance’ in the Bible (2 Peter 3 v5). Sadly this wilful ignorance results in a separation between God and mankind. Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: (Ephesians 4 v 18).
Perhaps you have grown up with the THEORY of evolution. Are you sure it’s true? Can you prove it? There is a too much at stake to just drift on in the assumption that the scientists are always right. They have often been wrong. Scientists used to believe the earth was flat; they were wrong. If they had bothered to examine the Bible they would have found out that the earth was in fact round, not flat (Isaiah 40 v 22). Only in the 20th century did they discover the great significance of blood as the carrier of life in the body. Again, they should have read the Bible (Leviticus 17 v 11). Also in the 2Oth century they discovered the jet stream had circuits. For the details of the weather cycle and wind circuits they should have read the Bible. Very recently they have discovered that so much apparently irrelevant data in our DNA structure is now of true importance, again demonstrating the fallibility of the scientists in spite of previous arrogant claims.
It’s also important to note that many highly qualified and leading scientists do not support evolution theory as presented by the mass media. Creationists are not, as some followers of the atheist religion try to make out, a bunch of sub-intelligent fools! Evolution is still a theory and not fact; the theory of evolution is having to constantly adjust as new facts are revealed. Self evidently, it is therefore a theory that is wrongly presented by some of the atheistic religion as fact.
Sadly, this atheistic, ‘wilful ignorance’ has resulted in the abandonment of the knowledge of God. They say they are enlightened and have the truth, but it has certainly NOT resulted in any improved society or individuals. Who can deny the correlation between the abandonment of the knowledge of God in our nations and the spiral of societal problems; the breakdown of trust and commitment, the lack of integrity in high office, the shameful treatment of the poor and marginalised? Moreover the devaluing of life has its origins in the abandonment of the word of God. Society says it’s okay to kill babies before they are born, and now society talks of the old wanting to commit suicide as they have no quality of life. I wonder where we will draw the line. As the world population continues to stress, what will be the acceptable policy of tomorrow; whose life will be expendable next?
Your life is not expendable; you are too precious. Your soul is of more worth than all the world (Matthew 16 v26). You have been created by God as an eternal being. You will die, but your soul will live on. You will meet God! You will give account for what you have done with His offer of love and mercy. You will give account of the deeds you have done. These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes. (Psalm 50:21 ). Tell me, what have you done with God’s offer of salvation? Have you just lived on, pretending that God doesn’t exist, pretending that you can do whatever you like and never have to give account? Convenient for you, perhaps, but totally misguided.
The Bible is the Word of God; God’s communication to you. It is wholly reliable! Take note of the wisdom that is conveyed, the prophecies fulfilled, its interwoven patterns and its coherency in spite of having been written by many penmen in various ages. Take note of how it speaks personally to you! Read Isaiah 53. Is it about the Lord Jesus? It was written 700 years before! What about Psalm 22, written 1000 years before, or Zechariah 9 v 9 written 600 years before? There are many wondrous marvels like Daniel’s prophecies which give timetables for the arrival of the Lord Jesus into Jerusalem and His death. Such accuracy, wisdom, and foresight demonstrates a book that is simply the truth.
