What is a Gospel Meeting and what happens at it?
The word “Gospel” simply means, “Good news”. So a Gospel meeting is a meeting where good news, the message of true love, is declared from the Bible.
Everyone and anyone is welcome to come along, and you should feel free to bring a friend.
Most folks arrive 5-10 minutes before the time. Someone will meet you when you arrive and you should feel free to ask them anything you want to know. Otherwise, come straight on in. There is no dress code. Some will be very respectably dressed and others more casual, so don't worry, just come on in.
Generally, the meetings start with a welcome and then some community hymn singing. Join in (or not) and appreciate the meaning of these great hymns. After the singing, the two speakers will read from the Bible and then speak for about 20minutes each on a different topic every night. After the meeting is officially closed, there is an opportunity to stay and ask questions or simply have a chat. Or, you can simply slip away quietly, it's really up to you. We like to make sure you feel welcome and free to find out more, but we don’t want anyone to feel that we are intrusive or pushing something on you - it's your choice. Come along and see for yourself.
